STORY
中世イングランド。
ヨーク家とランカスター家が王位争奪を繰り返す
薔薇戦争時代。
ヨーク家の三男として生まれたリチャードは、
母からは「悪魔の子」と疎まれる一方、
同じ名を持つ父からは真っ直ぐな愛情を受けて育っていた。
リチャードの願いは、この世の光である父・ヨーク公爵が王位に就くこと。
だがリチャードの純粋な願いは、イングランドに戦乱の嵐を招くことになる。
さらにリチャードは、男女二つの性を持って生まれたという秘密があった。
誰にも明かせぬ秘密を胸に秘めたまま、
リチャードもまた戦いの渦中に巻き込まれていく。
そこで待つのは愛の温もり、絶望の痛み。
痛ましくも美しい邂逅と別離が、
「悪」の道へとリチャードを誘っていく――。
The Wars of the Roses pitted the Houses of York
and Lancaster against each other in a struggle for the throne in medieval England.
Richard, born as the third son of the York family,
is shunned by his mother as a "devil child,"
but enjoys the honest love of the father who shares his namd.
His dream is to see his father, the Duke of York, take the throne,
but that heartfelt wish plunges all of England into a firestorm.
What's more, Richard has a secret -- he was born both male and female.
It is a fact he can reveal to no one as he dives into battle.
Awaiting him is the warmth of love, accompanied by the pain of despair.
Painful, yet beautiful encounters and separations await Richard,
as the road to evil reaches out to him...

リチャードは残酷な運命に導かれ、自らの闇と対峙することになる。
菅野 文の『薔薇王の葬列』（秋田書店「月刊プリンセス」連載）が待望のTVアニメ化。
白薔薇のヨーク、赤薔薇のランカスターとの戦いを背景に、
リチャードの魂の彷徨が華麗に描き出される。
監督は『殺戮の天使』の鈴木健太郎、
シリーズ構成は『メルクストーリア –無気力少年と瓶の中の少女-』の内田裕基。
アニメーション制作はJ.C.STAFFが担当する。

Aya Konno's Requiem of the Rose King
(published by Akitashoten's Monthly Princess magazine)
is receiving its long-awaited anime adaptation.
Set amid the battle between the Houses of York and Lancaster
(the White and Red Roses), the series will
beautifully depict the wanderings of Richard's soul.
Kentaro Suzuki (Angels of Death) directs,
with scripts handled by Hiroki Uchida
(Merc Storia: The Apathetic Boy and the Girl in a Bottle).
J.C.STAFF is producing the series.
